‘Through the Trees’

This original painting was inspired by the beautiful loch and swan at Fyvie Castle. It was painted with encaustic wax which is melted and applied with a little iron. Details were then carved into the wax and painted in oils, resins and pigments. The different unusual materials and processes give the painting a lot of depth and an almost 3D surface when you look at it in person from different angles.
